Jesseca Liu and Felicia Chin still turn heads no matter where they go.
The media spotlight was on the two ex-princesses of Caldecott Hill when they turned up together at a media conference for Ch U's feature films Love, 50% and Lost & Found, drama Secret Garden and talk show Let's Talk.
It was the first time in six months since the pair last met. During the interview with xinmsn, the girls chattered away with each other.
A curious Jesseca asked about Felicia's life in the schoolyard, wondering if there was anyone who took up a module just to be in the same class as Felicia. The latter answered that she had heard about it before, but believed it to be merely a rumour.
Jesseca also probed if any students secretly took photos of Felicia in school.
"I would be very angry. Once, I was concentrating on something when a guy kept snapping photos of me in secret. So I went up to him and told him that I was bothered by what he was doing. I'm really okay if anyone wants to take a photo properly," replied Felicia.
The actress-turned-student said she was "shocked because I am not that kind of person. However, I felt that I needed to communicate with him then."
Chiming in response, Jesseca reminisced about a rainy day many years ago where she learned of the Felicia's straightforward personality. An auntie had cut their queue at the taxi stand.
"You went over and told her politely that we were there first. It left me a deep impression. I thought you were a brave girl. If it was me, I probably would have scolded her silently instead," Jesseca said to her friend.
Felicia Chin is currently a Business Administration freshman at the National University of Singapore and has thought of graduating with a Finance major two and a half years later.
A businesswoman in Malaysia with a chain of spas, Jesseca Liu asked Felicia to work in her company as a financial consultant during the latter's summer holiday.
"I'm interested in finance and have the ability to make money for people, but don't you want to look at my results first?" Felicia quipped.
Jesseca then prompted for a discount from her long-time colleague.
"A discount? I was thinking of working for free," Felicia teased.
It was Felicia's last paper for the semester on the morning of the media conference. The girl commented, "It has been a long time since I sat for an examination. It (the relaxed feeling after an exam) feels rather unfamiliar."
Attending school had been a positive experience. The 26-year-old believed that it was not too late to learn how to manage her time properly now. She also said that there were more words to study for in comparison to memorising scripts, and jokingly claimed she had been lied to.
Felicia Chin had spent 12 days of her school holiday to shoot Love, 50% with Taiwanese actor Kingone Wang, whom she thought possessed warm eyes.
On the other hand, Jesseca found her calling in doing business. Her mother and younger sister would email her turnover reports at night, keeping her updated on the business. Acting remained an interest and now that she joined HIM International, Jesseca felt that it has become easier to manage both her loves.
The actress travelled to Taiwan to complete the filming of Lost & Found with James Wen and child actor Xiao Xiao Bin.
She experienced the young kid's professionalism first-hand, especially during the shoot of a crying scene. The young actor would ask the director for five minutes if he was not ready, taking time to recollect his emotions.
"Despite his young age, Xiao Xiao Bin is as seasoned as someone who had been acting for a long time. I think he is great," Jeseca praised.
Would she be interested in acting with Felicia Chin? The actress joked that she "wished to play Felicia's mother in future."
Although the pair could be found in various dramas together, it is rare to catch them acting opposite one another. Given a chance to be in the same drama again, Jesseca hopes to play sisters or rivals-in-love with Felicia.
On her plans of returning as a full-time artiste to MediaCorp, Felicia expressed that she has not thought too far into the future. For now, she just wants to finish her exams and see how things go for her next year. Jesseca echoed the former's answer, saying that she would finish the shooting for Secret for Sales first.
